What this printable includes
Convert twelve improper fractions into mixed numbers or whole numbers. The worksheet focuses on the relationship between division and fractional parts. Each item has a separate answer line, and the key shows simplified fractional remainders where needed.

How to use the page
Divide the numerator by the denominator. The quotient gives the whole-number part and the remainder becomes the numerator of the remaining fraction. For eleven fourths, two groups of four leave three, so the result is two and three fourths. Keep the original denominator for that remainder.
Review and adapt
When division leaves no remainder, write a whole number instead of a zero fractional part. Simplify a nonzero fractional part where possible. Check by multiplying the whole number by the denominator and adding the remaining numerator. This reverse check can reveal a mistaken quotient or an overlooked remainder.
