Free Printable Dot Grid Paper for Notes and Sketches

This printable dot grid paper offers gentle alignment without full horizontal and vertical rules. The white spaces between the dots stay open for notes, sketches, or a layout you draw yourself.

Your blank dot-grid page

The design contains 25 columns and 29 rows of evenly spaced dots. Adjacent dots define 24 spaces across and 28 spaces down. There are no page numbers, headings inside the grid, or dated sections to work around.

Start with a small layout

Choose a few dots as the corners of a box, then connect them lightly with a ruler. You could divide the page into a notes column and a task column, or draw a simple habit table. Write the headings before filling the boxes so their purpose is clear.

For freehand lettering or a small diagram, use the dots as a guide and leave the rest of the page unruled. The pattern supports alignment, but it does not assign a meaning or scale to each space.

Ideas for using the page

  • Arrange handwritten notes in separate blocks.
  • Plan a simple journal spread before using a notebook.
  • Sketch geometric borders or repeating patterns.
  • Keep lines of lettering aligned while practicing.

Check the printed spacing

The physical distance between dots depends on the selected paper size and print scaling. This template is not labeled as a calibrated 5 mm or quarter-inch grid. If a project needs an exact size, measure your test print first.

Download and print

Use Download image beneath a printable to save the original PNG. Choose US Letter or A4 if you want the website to create a one-page PDF. Check the paper size and preview before printing; these pages are images with handwriting spaces, rather than fillable forms.
