Seed Starting Log Printable

What this printable includes

Record sowing and first-sprout observations without mixing different seed varieties in one entry. This seed starting log keeps the variety, sowing date and location beside the first visible sprout date. It is a record of what happened in your own setup, rather than a planting calendar or a promise about germination.

Seed Starting Log Printable with labeled fields and generous writing space

How to use the page

Label each container before filling the first row. Use the same label on the sheet so a tray moved to another shelf remains identifiable. Record the actual date you see a sprout, not an expected date copied from a packet. In the observation column, note visible changes such as uneven emergence or a moved tray.

Review and adapt

Start a separate row for a second sowing of the same variety. That keeps the two dates from being confused when you compare results. Leave an unknown date blank instead of guessing. Keep any care directions with the seed packet; this printable does not supply species-specific growing instructions.

Download and print

Save the original PNG with Download image below the printable. To make a PDF, select US Letter or A4 and use Download PDF; the website creates it from the image in your browser. Check the selected paper size, orientation and print preview before printing. Keep the whole page inside the printable area and use uniform scaling. These are flat pages, not fillable forms. Copies are for personal and classroom use; share the article link rather than redistributing or reselling the files.
