What this printable helps you do
Prepare trivia questions whose answers can be checked. Start with the smallest playable or usable version. Define the participants, materials and available time before adding complexity. A brief trial often reveals an unclear rule faster than a polished page does. Ask for concrete examples of what happened, record the version tested and keep proposed changes separate from observations made during the activity.

What is on the page
Four generous card-style areas hold related parts of the task. Use the reference line to connect each part with an object, version or source. Keep the page intact as a single record or copy the headings into a longer notebook. The four headings are Question draft, Proposed answer, Source and date, Ambiguity check. Add a subject identifier and date at the top so the page can be understood when you return to it.
How to use it
Write a narrow question and record a reliable source for the exact wording of the answer. Start with one example rather than filling the whole page at once. Use ordinary language you will understand later and add a reference where a note depends on another source.
A practical example
Specify a year or edition when a question would otherwise have multiple valid answers. This illustrates how to begin; the downloadable page is blank so you can use your own subject, materials and observations.
Review before you reuse it
Recheck facts that change and accept justified alternatives when the wording allowed them. Read the finished page from the perspective of someone who was not present. Clarify an abbreviation, mark an unanswered question and identify the next small action if one is needed.
