Free Printable Blank Sheet Music with Ten Staves

This free printable blank sheet music provides ten five-line staves on one page. It leaves clefs, key signatures, time signatures, and bar lines unprinted so you can add the notation that fits your exercise or idea.

Use the page for a short melody, a notation lesson, or a musical sketch. The title and composer fields at the top help you identify loose sheets later.

Your blank staff paper

Each of the ten staves contains five horizontal lines. The design is intentionally open: there are no preset measures, instrument labels, or paired grand staves. That makes it a simple starting page for notation by hand.

Set up the page for your task

Begin with the clef and any signatures you need. If you are practicing one short idea, use a single staff and leave the rest of the page for later examples. For a longer sketch, decide where you want line breaks before writing every note.

When a task calls for paired staves, you can add a brace and the relevant clefs yourself. The template does not include instrument-specific layouts, so check that the spacing suits the notation you intend to write.

Ideas for a practice session

  • Write a short rhythm and repeat it with a changed ending.
  • Copy a scale you are learning, then check the note order with your teacher or reference material.
  • Keep the first staff for a melody and use later staves for alternate versions.
  • Label a small notation example before returning to it in another lesson.

Leave enough space between symbols to read them clearly. Pencil is useful for an early sketch, and a ruler can help when adding bar lines. A page can hold several short exercises; it does not have to become one complete composition.

Printing tips

Download the original 2,550 × 3,300 PNG or choose a generated US Letter or A4 PDF below the image. Match the PDF paper size in your print settings and check the line spacing on a test copy.

The page uses dark staff lines on a white background. It works in grayscale and has no large shaded panels. If you need larger writing space, print a copy to check that the staff size is comfortable before making several copies.

Is it an editable music file?

No. The PNG and generated PDF are flat images. They are intended for handwriting or annotation, and they do not contain playable notes or notation-software data.

You may print this original template for personal and classroom use. Share the article link when recommending it and do not resell or redistribute the downloadable files.
