These printable letter stencil guides provide a block alphabet and a matching number sheet. Light-gray letter shapes show the areas to remove, while white bridges connect the enclosed centers of letters and digits to the surrounding sheet.
Uppercase alphabet guide
The alphabet sheet includes A through Z in a five-column layout. It is a compact set of small letters, useful for testing a stencil technique or planning a short label.

Number stencil guide
The number page contains 0 through 9. The guides use the same block style and bridge approach as the alphabet page.

Understand the white bridges
Letters such as A, B, D, O, P, Q, and R have enclosed spaces. A bridge interrupts part of the outline so the center stays attached to the surrounding material. Preserve the white gaps rather than cutting straight across them.
The bridge is part of the finished stencil design, so a painted or traced letter will show a small interruption in that stroke.
Prepare and test a stencil
- Print on a material your printer supports, or transfer the guide to a suitable stencil sheet.
- Have an adult handle any craft-knife cutting on an appropriate cutting surface.
- Remove the light-gray shape areas while keeping the white bridges.
- Test the stencil on spare paper before using it on a finished project.
These are flat printable guides, not machine-cut files or individually sized sign letters. If you enlarge the image, check that the bridges and surrounding material remain sturdy enough for your intended use.
Download and print
