Reading Log Printable with Pages, Minutes, and Book Notes

  • Reading log structure: The printable provides twelve entries for date, book or author, pages, minutes, and a finished checkbox to track progress.
  • One-page reading record setup: Write the reader’s name and a starting date at the top, and use the reflection line at the bottom to capture a book moment, fact, or question.
  • Pages recording options: Decide if you’ll show a range (e.g., 25–38) or the number of pages read in a session, and keep a consistent choice to make entries easier to compare.
  • Optional time field: The minutes column can track session duration if you want, but you can leave it blank to focus on what was read, with no reading-level score involved.
  • Marking finished books and reflections: Use the final checkbox only when the whole book is complete; add a brief note if you stop early and include one reflection to add meaning beyond numbers.

This reading log printable provides twelve entries for books and reading sessions. Each row includes the date, book or author, pages, minutes, and a checkbox to mark a finished book.

A one-page reading record

Write a reader’s name and a starting date at the top. Use the reflection line at the bottom for a book moment, an interesting fact, or a question to discuss later.

Choose how you will record pages

Decide whether the pages column will show a range, such as 25–38, or the number of pages read in that session. Either approach can work, but a consistent choice makes the entries easier to compare later.

Use a new row for a new session if you want to see when reading happened. Alternatively, use one row per book and update it as you go. Write a small note about your approach so another person can interpret the page.

Keep the time field optional

The minutes column can record a session’s duration when timing serves your purpose. Leave it blank if you prefer to focus on what was read. The sheet does not compare readers or convert minutes into a reading-level score.

Mark a finished book clearly

Use the final checkbox when the whole book is complete, rather than after every reading session. If you stop reading a book before the end, leave that box blank and add a short note if you want to remember the decision.

Add one reflection

Choose a sentence, question, or detail worth keeping. A short reflection can make the log more meaningful than a list of numbers alone. Keep the page with a bookmark or reading folder, and print a fresh copy when the twelve rows are full.
