Blank Ten Frames Printable: Four Frames on One Page

This blank ten frames printable places four matching frames on one page. Every frame has two rows of five boxes and a number label beside it. Use counters, small paper pieces, or drawn marks to represent quantities without needing a prefilled worksheet.

Introduce the frame as a structure

Show the two rows and count the five spaces in each. A full frame represents ten when one object or mark is placed in each box. Begin with a quantity the learner can count reliably, and keep the arrangement clear enough that each occupied space is easy to see.

Choose a consistent way to fill it

You can agree to work across the top row first, then across the bottom. That convention helps make groups of five visible. Explain the convention before expecting a learner to infer it. The printed frame is blank, so the adult and learner can also discuss other arrangements when that serves the activity.

Ask questions about the empty spaces

For a frame showing seven counters, ask how many spaces remain before the frame is full. Count or compare the empty boxes rather than only repeating the total. A second frame can show another quantity for a side-by-side discussion.

Use the number line beside each frame

Write the represented numeral in the blank label, or write a numeral first and build the corresponding quantity. Check that each counter occupies a separate box and that the written number matches the group. The page has no predetermined answers because the quantities are chosen during the activity.

There are four frames rather than four required questions. Use one at a time, cover unused areas, or cut the sheet into sections after printing. If loose pieces are not appropriate for the setting, draw a mark inside each occupied box instead.
