This summer word search printable combines twelve themed words in a fifteen-by-fifteen grid. Search right, down, and diagonally down-right. Words never run backward, upward, or around a corner.
Begin with the list
Find BEACH, SUNSHINE, PICNIC, CAMP, SAND, SHELL, SWIM, LEMONADE, VACATION, SUNSET, WAVES, and BREEZE. Read longer spellings such as LEMONADE before starting so a nearly matching string of letters is not mistaken for the whole word.
Use a method you can repeat
Choose one word and scan for its first letter. At each possible start, check the three allowed directions. If the next letter does not match, move to another start rather than trying to force a path. Mark the word in both the grid and the list once all its letters have been checked.
Keep the activity flexible
A learner can find a few words at a time, or two people can alternate turns. The page does not require a particular completion time. For an extra language activity, choose three found words and write a short sentence or plan a fictional day using them.
