Choose criteria before filling the chart
This compare and contrast chart printable places two subjects beside a column of five criteria. It is useful when you want to compare the same feature for both subjects, such as setting, motivation or materials. A summary area below the table turns the notes into a brief explanation rather than leaving them as isolated facts.

Keep entries parallel
Write the subject names at the top of their columns. For each row, use the same kind of detail on both sides: if the criterion is size, compare size rather than describing color for one subject. Short phrases are enough, but use a source or observation that supports them. Mark an unavailable detail as unknown rather than assuming the subjects differ.
Summarize what the comparison reveals
Review all five rows before writing the conclusion. Identify a similarity or difference that matters to the purpose of the task, not just the easiest detail to notice. This blank chart can support many topics and therefore has no fixed answer key. For younger learners, an adult can supply the criteria while leaving the comparison notes for the learner.
