Sequence of Events Organizer Printable with Six Steps

Choose a sequence with a clear beginning

This sequence of events organizer printable has six numbered writing boxes connected in order. It can hold the main events of a short story, the stages of an observed process or the steps in a familiar classroom routine. A title field identifies the sequence so the boxes do not need to repeat its name.

Place six events or process steps in order using numbered boxes and connecting arrows.

Use one event or step in each box

Choose the important actions rather than trying to copy every sentence from a source. Write a short description or make a small sketch in each box. Follow the arrows from one to six and check that a reader could understand the order. If the source has fewer than six meaningful steps, leave the remaining boxes unused instead of inventing extra events.

Check order and missing transitions

Read the sequence aloud using words such as first, next and finally. Ask whether a step requires something that has not yet happened. For a story, compare the order with the text; for a process, use an appropriate verified source. The organizer shows sequence, but it does not by itself prove that one event caused another or provide instructions for a technical procedure.
