Camping Checklist Printable: A One-Page Packing Starter

This camping checklist printable brings common packing categories onto one page. Use it as a starting point, then adapt the list for your group, the campsite facilities, and the conditions you expect.

Six sections for a first packing pass

Camping checklist with six sections for shelter, food, clothing, personal items, practical gear, and preparation

The page separates shelter and sleep, cooking and food, clothing, personal items, light and practical gear, and tasks to complete before leaving. Each section has checkboxes and a blank line for something specific to your trip.

Adapt the list before packing

Read through the campsite information and the expected weather, then cross out items you do not need and add the supplies your setup requires. A campsite with supplied facilities will need a different packing list from a site where you bring all your own equipment.

Decide what each checkbox means. It can mean “packed,” “checked and working,” or “assigned to someone,” but using one meaning consistently makes the sheet easier to follow.

Pack in categories

  1. Gather the items for one section in a single place.
  2. Check their condition and suitability for your plans.
  3. Put them into their bags or containers.
  4. Tick the items after they have actually been packed.

For a shared trip, write a person’s name beside group equipment so two people do not both assume the other is bringing it.

Use the return trip to improve it

After coming home, note anything you missed and anything you carried without using. Keep those notes for the next trip. This is an organization aid, not a complete outdoor safety or equipment guide; your destination and activities determine the final requirements.
