Explore a grid with six-sided cells
This hexagonal grid paper printable provides a field of adjoining flat-top hexagons. It can be used for coloring patterns, sketching an informal board-game map or examining how hexagonal cells meet. The cells are blank and have no coordinates, labels or predefined game rules.

Choose a purpose before adding marks
For a repeating pattern, decide which colors or symbols will repeat and test a small area first. For a game sketch, write a separate legend explaining the marks you use. Adjacent hexagons share edges, so be consistent about whether a route follows cell centers or cell boundaries. The printable is an open drawing surface rather than a finished activity with one solution.
Check the printed size if it matters
The grid is not labeled with a guaranteed physical cell measurement. Printer scaling changes the size of the cells, so check a test print before using pieces that must fit inside them. Light coloring can keep the outlines visible. If a specialized task requires a particular grid size or coordinate convention, use a resource designed and measured for that requirement.
