What this practice page covers
This order of operations worksheet includes an original practice page and a separate answer page. The order of operations makes expressions unambiguous. This introductory page uses parentheses, multiplication, addition and subtraction, with no exponents or division.

Work through an example
The expression 3 + 4 × 2 equals 11 because multiplication comes first. Adding parentheses changes the grouping: (3 + 4) × 2 equals 14. Read the instruction before starting, and use a spare sheet for intermediate working if the answer space is not enough.
Review the method as well as the answer
Work from left to right when addition and subtraction occur at the same level. In 24 – 4 + 8, subtract four and then add eight. The answer key supplies final values; learners should still show intermediate steps on spare paper. Try the exercise page before opening the key. When an answer differs, compare the steps and correct the specific misunderstanding rather than copying every result. The page is focused practice, not a complete assessment of the wider topic.
