This rounding numbers worksheet combines six nearest-ten questions and six nearest-hundred questions. Each item states the place to round to, so the learner must read the instruction alongside the number. The page uses the usual whole-number classroom convention that a value exactly halfway between two choices rounds up.
Locate the two neighboring multiples
For a nearest-ten question, identify the multiples of ten on either side. Twenty-four lies between twenty and thirty and is closer to twenty. For a nearest-hundred question, use neighboring hundreds instead. Drawing a short number line can make the distance easier to compare.

Handle halfway values explicitly
The set includes halfway examples, such as sixty-five to the nearest ten and two hundred fifty to the nearest hundred. Apply the convention printed on the sheet: round those halfway values upward. Other rounding conventions exist in particular contexts, so this statement is part of the worksheet’s instructions rather than an unstated assumption.
Check the size of the result
A nearest-ten answer should be a multiple of ten, and a nearest-hundred answer should be a multiple of one hundred. That check can catch a response that changes the wrong place. Rounding changes the value to an approximation; it does not leave every original digit in place.
Review with the key
The separate answer image completes each line. Ask the learner to name the two possible neighboring multiples and explain why one was chosen. That explanation is more informative than only comparing the final numeral with the key.

The last questions can produce an answer that crosses into a new hundred or thousand. Work those examples on a number line if the new place makes the result surprising. This page does not cover rounding decimals or significant figures.
