Look for pumpkin, ghost, costume, candy, spider, bat, witch, broom, mask, cat, trick, and treat. The word bank appears beneath the grid so you can cross off each word after finding it.

A simple way to search
Pick a word from the bank and find its first letter. Check the letters to the right, then the letters below. If neither direction matches, move to the next occurrence of the first letter. Circle or highlight the whole word when you find it.
Try shorter words first for a quick start, or choose the longest word if a learner prefers a more specific letter pattern. Complete a few words at a time rather than making speed the main goal.
Matching answer key
The key marks all twelve words. Keep it separate while solving, then use it to check a word that was difficult to locate.

Use the puzzle in a small activity
A learner can read a found word aloud, describe it, or use it in a short sentence. The sheet is a seasonal word-finding activity rather than a reading-level assessment.
