Kitchen Inventory Printable for Pantry and Fridge

This kitchen inventory printable gives the pantry and fridge their own record sheets. Both pages have eleven rows for an item, the amount on hand, its location, and a short use or shopping note. The purpose is to make what you already have easier to see before planning meals or writing a list.

Start with one kitchen area

Choose the pantry or fridge page, label a section at the top, and add the date you checked it. Work shelf by shelf rather than trying to remember everything from another room. Use descriptions that help your household recognize the item: “brown rice, open bag” is more useful than simply “rice” when several packets are stored together.

Keep the two records separate

The pantry page suits cupboards and dry-goods shelves. The fridge page keeps chilled items on a separate list, with the same column order so you do not have to learn a second system. If you have several shelves or drawers, write a location such as “top shelf” or “left drawer” rather than a long explanation.

Use amounts you can update

Record an approximate amount when an exact count would be inconvenient. Entries such as “two tins,” “half a packet,” or “one unopened tub” can be enough to help with the next shop. Cross out or update an entry when you use the item; an inventory that is easy to maintain is more useful than a detailed page that quickly becomes outdated.

Connect the inventory to your shopping list

Use the last column for your own reminders, such as “check before buying more” or “needed for Tuesday’s recipe.” Transfer missing ingredients to a separate grocery list. This sheet is an organizational record, not a food-safety guide: it does not determine freshness, storage conditions, or how long an item should be kept. Refer to the item’s labeling and appropriate food-safety guidance for those decisions.
