Skip Counting by 2, 5, and 10: Charts and Practice

These skip counting charts practice counting by 2, 5, and 10. Each page shows the first twenty positive multiples of its step size, followed by five practice rows with some missing values. Use a chart for reading the pattern, then complete the practice section.

The pages all use the same layout so the main change is the counting step. Choose one sequence at a time rather than mixing three new patterns in one session.

Skip counting by 2

The reference section runs from 2 to 40. Each number is two more than the one before it. The practice rows continue the sequence through 50, with some values supplied as starting points.

Skip counting by 5

This reference section runs from 5 to 100. Notice how the ones digits alternate between 5 and 0. The practice rows continue through 125.

Skip counting by 10

The reference section runs from 10 to 200, and the practice rows continue through 250. Each move adds ten to the previous value.

Connect the pattern with equal groups

Build a few equal groups with counters or simple drawings. If each group contains five objects, count the running totals as 5, 10, 15, and so on. Match those totals to the first values on the chart.

Say the step size before starting a practice row. If a learner loses the sequence, return to a supplied number and add the same step again. Read each completed row aloud to check whether a gap has changed the pattern.

Check the missing-number rows

Every practice section has five rows of five numbers. The full sequences are listed below. A row ends after its fifth value, and the next row continues with the next multiple.
