What this practice page covers
This two digit subtraction regrouping worksheet includes an original practice page and a separate answer page. These twelve problems have positive answers and require regrouping in the ones place. Use additional paper or a place-value model to show the exchange before recording the answer.

Work through an example
For 52 – 28, exchange one of the five tens for ten ones. Twelve ones minus eight leaves four ones, and four tens minus two tens leaves two tens: 24. Read the instruction before starting, and use a spare sheet for intermediate working if the answer space is not enough.
Review the method as well as the answer
Check subtraction by adding the result to the number subtracted. The sum should equal the starting number. This provides a second way to catch an exchange or subtraction error before consulting the key. Try the exercise page before opening the key. When an answer differs, compare the steps and correct the specific misunderstanding rather than copying every result. The page is focused practice, not a complete assessment of the wider topic.
